Motion Percentage:**

* Frames Per Second, or FPS, is the number of video images recorded every second for each camera (for example.. setting 10 fps per camera would provide the number of days that can be stored on the hard drive if you were to record 10 images every second continuously for each camera.) All though our systems can record up to 30 frames per second per camera, for best video performance and system optimization most users record any where from 5-15 fps per camera depending on the importance of the cameras.

** Motion Percentage refers to the use of our "Motion Activated Recording" feature. This is the percentage of time the system will be set to record only if motion is detected (for example... if you set the system to only record if motion is detected from 6:00 pm until 6:00 am, then you are using the Motion Activated Feature 12 of the 24 hours in a day, or 50%. In this case you would enter 50 in the Motion Percentage field to calculate the storage capability. We highly recommend using this feature to optimize the use of the storage capability of your system. If you do not plan on using motion activated recording and will record all cameras 24 hours a day then enter (100%) in the Motion Percentage window.
