This kit is perfect for the initial setup and use of the EZ-Track PTZ dome cameras.

Up to 32 EZ-Track domes are programmed and controlled with this interface. The cameras are connected together with a two wire communication cable which is pulled from one camera to another creating a “daisy chain” of cameras with a maximum cable distance of 3000 feet. We recommend using the 1000/22-2 PTZ communication wire.

The two wire communication cable is connected to the AU40E joystick and the RS485 connection on the TRP-C08 interface module. The module is then connected to the PC with a serial cable (Serial to USB Interface optional). The EZWatch Pro software and/or joystick provides complete control and support for up to 32 PTZ cameras.

The kit includes:

  • 1 TRP-C08 PC Communication Interface
  • 1 AU40E Joystick Controller
  • 1 Users Guide

System Overview:

PTZ cameras are programmed and controlled with either a joystick controller or software built into a DVR. The cameras are connected together with a two wire communication cable which is pulled from one camera to another creating a "Daisy Chain" of cameras with a maximum cable distance of 3000 feet.

Each camera is given an address so the system can control each camera independently. This is accomplished by setting dip switches on the camera to correspond to a specific camera number. Camera 1, Camera 2, Camera 3 Camera 4 etc.

The two wire communication cable is then connected to either a joystick controller and/or PC interface. The cameras can be controlled simultaneously with the joystick and the DVR software. Both units perform the same control functions with the exception that the joystick controller is needed for initial setup. Using the DVR software interface you can access the system remotely through the internet or a company's network and control the cameras remotely.

  • Communication Wire: Two wire 18 or 22 gauge, twisted, stranded, shielded. Maximum distance 3000' total. No maximum or minimum distance required between cameras.
  • Cables Required: Each camera requires: One com. line which can be pulled from camera to camera. One video cable ran from camera to DVR. One power cable which can be up to 200' long. Note: Each camera includes it own power supply with an eight foot cable.
  • Setup & Programming: The cameras can be controlled by 2 different options. The first option is to use the EZWatch Pro software and the TRP-C08-8 Com Module. This allows a complete PC and remote controlled operation of 16 PTZ cameras without the need for a physical joystick controller The second option is the AU40E Joystick. This unit provides a small, desktop style joy stick which allows complete control of 16 cameras from 1 location. No PC Interface required.

Designing your PTZ system:
At first glance a Pan, Tilt, Zoom system may look a little challenging. But at a closer look you'll find this is not the case. The parts of the system easily connect and the layout is quite simple and flexible. Please visit the link below for a clear understanding of the basics. Also feel free to call and speak with one of our support representative during our extended support hours. They will be glad to help. Basic PTZ System Design.

Recommended Controls:
You have several options for controlling the camera. You can use the TRP-CO8 PC interface which will allow you to control the camera through the EZWatch Pro software. Or you can choose one of our easy to use joystick controllers, the AU40E or the AU40Z. Only one unit is required to control up to 16 cameras.

Recommended Communication Wire:
The cameras are controlled with a two wire communication line pulled from one camera to the other. Up to 16 cameras can be linked together with this "com. line". The total maximum distance of the com. line is 3000 feet. Any combination of the different PTZ cameras we offer can be controlled on this one "com. line" or wire run. Quite a sophisticated, powerful yet easy to set up product. I think the pigtail that connects to the joystick needs to have additional connectors not just shove all of the wires in two small holes.

Why I bought this Item

For security purposes. This is the first part of a multi-camera project. I will have several units connecting to the joystick.

Performance Review

The unit performed as advertised - using all of the features and functions will be a task. But it is well worth going through the process. Once programmed, I will be good to go.

Support Review

The support was outstanding. Brian A. is always ready to answer my questions. As hard as it is to document every aspect of every product, I think a company is spending good money when they document step by step procedures.
