The TRP-C08 Control Module allows the EZ Watch Pro 4.0 Software to be able to take control of Input/Output relay modules and Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras. The module is extremely simple to install/configure, and takes only a minute to get working.

The first step is to install the unit. Please first insert the EZ Watch Pro 4.0 CD into the system, but cancel the installation wizard that pops up automatically. After that, plug the USB cable (provided with your TRP module) into the module itself, then plug the other end into your PC. Your PC should automatically find the device and install the driver. If a driver installation wizard pops up on the screen, just tell it to install the driver automatically. If your system asks where the driver is, simply point it to the CD Drive (Usually D: or E:), as the driver for the TRP unit is on the root directory of the CD.

The second step is that you must verify which COM port the TRP unit is using. Here are the instructions to do so for various versions of windows :

Windows XP - Open up 'Start', then go to your Control Panel. Find 'System' on the list and double-click to open it (If 'System' does not appear, click on 'Performance and Maintenance' and system will appear as the bottom-most option). Click on the 'Hardware' tab, then select 'Device Manager'.

Inside of the Device Manager, click on the + sign next to 'Ports - COM & LPT' and you should see a device labelled 'Prolific USB To Serial COM port (COM X)', where COM X is a number in parenthesis. This is the COM port that your TRP-C08 unit is using. Write this port down.

Windows Vista - Open up 'Start', then go to your Control Panel. Click on 'System & Maintenance' and look for a heading marked 'Device Manager'. Under the Device Manager is the text "View Hardware & Devices". Click on that tex.

The third step is to configure the TRP within EZ Watch Pro 4.0. Open up the Main Console, click on 'Config' and go to 'Settings'.

If you are using the TRP module to control a P/T/Z camera click on the 'PTZ Config' tab at the top. Place a check mark next to the camera which is a PTZ camera, then select the Protocol, Baud Rate, and Address of the camera on the right-hand side. These settings MUST match the settings you are using on your PTZ camera - please see our guide on Setting up a Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera for more information. Where it says COM port, select the COM port you just discovered in the device manager.

If you are using the TRP module to control an I/O relay module, click on the 'I/O Device' tab at the top. Next to 'Module' type in a name for the module (Any name will work), select SCB-C28 as the Device, and enter the COM port you discovered earlier. Select the address that the I/O Module is on, and click on 'Add'. The I/O device will appear on the list below the settings you entered, highlight it and you can configure it on the right-hand side of the page.
