Configuring an AU40E or AU40Z joystick

The AU40E/Z joystick can be configured to control a wide range of cameras, including the EZ-TRACK, CD55NV, CD55H, and ASH56 series cameras.
Both joysticks are controlled using a single set of dip switches, located on the rear of the joystick.
IMPORTANT NOTE - The diagram on the bottom of the camera is commonly misinterpreted and this can frequently lead to problems controlling the camera from the joystick. To ensure proper function, please double-check the camera setting according to the information on this article.
First, ensure that the joystick is powered down by making certain the power cable is not connected to the back of the joystick.
Second, adjust the dip switches so that they match the protocol/baud rate your camera is using. Here is a chart of the dip switch settings :

Dip Switches 7 and 8 are not used and should always be set to the 'OFF' position.
