This article will walk you through installing EZ Watch Pro 3.0 or 3.1 on your system. This guide can be used whether this is the first time the software is being loaded, or if this is part of a reinstallation on your system.

Please be certain that the EZ Watch Pro Video Capture Card is NOT installed prior to beginning the steps on this guide.

Step 1 - Determine the model of card you are using. The model is on a sticker located on the center of the card. Once you know the model # of the card, we recommend downloading and using the latest version of software appropriate to your model number. Valid model numbers are listed here by their download locations :

When downloading, if your system asks for a username and password enter 'ezwatch' as the username and 'pro' as the password.

  • The following model #'s can be downloaded as part of our 'All in One' package :
    • 1400 AS
    • 5404 HS
    • 5416 AS
    • 5432 AS
    • 2160 RD
  • The following Model #'s can be downloaded from our 'Download Center' page :
    • 1400 AS
    • 3404 HS
    • 3416 AS
    • 3432 AS
    • 1160 RD
    • 1320 RD
  • The following Model #'s must be downloaded from our FTP site :
    • 1404 HS
    • 1416 AS
    • 1432 AS
    • 1600 RD

Step 2 - Once you have downloaded the latest version of the software, run the file. On the first screen, click 'Install' - this will extract a copy of the software to your hard drive, to the C:\EZ Watch Install Files\ directory. After the files have been extracted, the installation menu will appear automatically.

Step 3 - If this is your first time installing the software, you must first install 'Access Runtime Database' from the install menu. Click on that option and follow the prompts it gives you. You do not need to chagne any of the settings on the pages that come up, simply click on 'next' every time it prompts you to. Once it's done, click on Finish.

Step 4 - The top-most option on the menu will always install the Surveillance Server software. Click on that option now. (If you are using the 'All in One' package, you will then be prompted to select your model # from the list)

Step 5 - Follow the directions as they appear on the screen. It may ask you, depending on your card, how to behave in certain circumstances.

If it asks you to select your video playback, choose OVERLAY.

If it asks you to select what to do when video becomes unstable, choose DO NOTHING.

If it asks you for an audio source, select PC SOUND CARD.

A box will appear saying 'This hardware has not passed Windows Logo Testing'. This is normal, select CONTINUE ANYWAYS.

Step 6 - Once the software installation has been completed, click on 'Finish'. After this, power the computer down and install the capture card. Once the card has been installed, power the machine back up.

Step 7 - The system will normally detect 2 to 8 devices per card, depending on which card you're using. Each of these devices will pop up asking for installation, 1 at a time. When each device pops up, simply click on 'Next' to proceed through each screen and install the driver automatically.

Some cards will require you to find the location of the driver. The drivers are normally installed in one of three folders :

C:\XPDEVICE\
C:\HSDEVICE\
C:\RDDEVICE\

If you do not have these folders listed, then the drivers are already in the system and can be found in the following folder :

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\

Follow this step for every driver installation window that pops up.

Upon completion of Step 7, your EZ Watch Pro 3.X software will be fully installed. You can now launch the software and start using it by going to 'Start', then 'All Programs', then go to the 'EZ Watch Pro 3.0' folder and start your Surveillance Server.
