How to backup your Main Console Database using DB Tools

Whenever you record video using EZ Watch Pro, the video clip you have recorded is stored in a database. This is vital, as the database is needed to search for and play back the clip you just recorded. If the clip is not in the database, then you cannot view that clip. If you reinstall EZ Watch Pro, the database is removed - which makes all of your already-recorded clips useless.

To avoid encountering this issue, EZ Watch Pro has a feature to back up the Database. If you back up your database before reinstalling, you can then later restore the database and you will not lose access to your clips. This is done with the 'DB Tools' program.

Please note : Backing up the database will not back up the clips themselves. If you back up the database then delete the clips, they will be lost for good. By default, all clips are stored in your C:\Program Files\EZ Watch Pro\(Business/Professional) Grade\ folder, and will be in dated folders. To ensure no loss of data, please do not delete the dated folders!

To Use the DB Tools program:

  1. Click on the Windows "Start" button
  2. Click on "all programs"
  3. Click on EZWatch Pro (Business/Professional) Grade (Depending on the version of software)
  4. Click on "DB Tools"
  5. Enter your user name & password (This should be the same as logging on to your Main Console)
  6. Select "Export Database"
  7. Click "browse" under the export destination.
  • Here you can choose a folder or make a new folder to store your database in. Once you have chosen the folder to export too, Click "export" button. Now you have successfully backed up your camera database.
