Night Vision Cameras, can you see the light?
From EZWatch Support Wiki
There are a lot of different types of security surveillance cameras available on the market now. But the dominate type is clearly the ones with night vision.
They cast an infrared light out a limited distance which the cameras imager can see. The light generated by the cameras operate in the infrared spectrum so to the human eye all you see is darkness. This allows a camera to provide much better video in low light and even no light situations.
This night vision technology or Infrared illumination provides a black & white or often gray scale image. During the day the cameras provide clear full color video. As the light level drops the camera switches to IR or night vision video. When the light level increases the camera automatically reverts back to full color video.
This technology is not new. But what is spurring its use is the fact that the cost of these cameras have dropped considerably. You can now purchase a high quality, outdoor, 100’ night vision surveillance camerafor around $200. Often it is much cheaper to go with a night vision camera than try and increase the lighting in a parking lot or warehouse.
The quality of the video provided can be affected by many factors. Below are a few night vision security camera samples which I believe illustrate the quality of the pictures they can provide.
