Playing back video clips in EZ Watch Pro 1.1
From EZWatch Wiki
This article will assist you in playing back previously recorded clips using the EZ Watch Pro 1.1 software. To be able to play back the recorded clips you must first know which type of clip you've been recording : Sequence clips or Motion Detection clips. If you're not sure, right-click on the live video image. If Sequence Recording is check-marked, your camera is recording Sequence Clips. If Motion Detection is check-marked, then your camera is recording Motion Clips. If neither is checked then your recording may be turned off; if this is the case, please see our guide on Setting up a recording schedule in EZ Watch Pro 1.1.
To begin playback, click on 'Video clips' at the top of the main camera window. This will give you two options to choose from, Motion Clips or Sequence clips. Alternatively there are two playback buttons you can select :
Once you have chosen which clips to play back, the video playback software will load and you will be prompted to select which videos to play.
The Optional section allows you to either play back All clips that have been recorded, or only those which have been recorded during a certain Period of time.
Lastly, under the Date section you can select when to look for video clips. The Date section will not be highlighted and cannot be used unless you have selected Period in the Optional section above. The after section allows you to search for any video clips that have happened after a specified date and time, while the before section tells the software to search for clips that happened before a specified date and time.
For example, if we wish to search for clips that were recorded on the weekend of Jan 30th to Feb 1st, we would set the dates to the following :
- AFTER - 2009/01/31 00:00
- BEFORE - 2009/02/01 23:59
This will search through all clips that occured between midnight in the morning on Jan 31st and 11:59PM on Feb 1st.
Once we have set the dates and times to search for clips in, click on the Search button at the bottom of the page. The main playback screen will appear.
The top-left icon is the search button. This will bring up the search dialog box again so you can search for new video clips to play back. Next to the search button is the delete button. This will bring up a similar search dialog box, but instead of searching for clips this will DELETE clips that have been recorded. BE WARNED : Clips deleted using this button CANNOT be retreived again.
Below the search/delete buttons are Pause/Stop buttons which will pause or stop playback on all video channels.
Below those are the Repeat/Exit buttons. The Repeat button (The icon with two arrows) tells the software to begin playback at the first clip once it has finished playing the final clip. Lastly, the 'Exit' button will close the software so you can see the live camera image again.

The last section in playback, just below the recorded image, is the playback controls. This consists of three sections :
The first area is the clip information section. The first field (in Cyan color) shows you the date and the time that the clip was recorded. The second field (in white) shows you when in the clip you're currently watching (The left number) and the total duration of the clip (the right number). Lastly, the Frame section (in yellow) shows you the current frame being displayed on the left, and the total amoung of frames in the clip on the right.
The second area is the clip control section. The number in the top center shows you how many clips the software found during your search (The number on the right) and which clip is being displayed right now (the number on the left). In our example above we're watching the first clip out of 64 that were found. To the left and the right of the red clip numbers are arrows which will let you move to the next clip (Right), or go back to the previous Clip (Left).
Below the arrows and the current clip indicator is a slider which will visually show you how far into the clip you are watching. Moving the slider left or right will take you to different parts of the clips.
Below the slider, you will see the current speed (x1 is 'normal' speed, /2 is half-speed, x2 is double speed, etc.). The buttons on the right control the speed the clip is being played in : + will speed up the clip, - will slow down the clip, and : sets the speed back to normal.
The last area is the playback controls section.
The first button allows you to play or pause the video. The second button is Stop, which stops playback and resets to the beginning of the current clip. Next to Stop is the 'first clip' button which takes you to the first clip the software found during its search. After the first clip button is the frame advance/rewind buttons, which will move the current video forward or backward by a single frame. After these is the 'Last Clip' button which takes you directly to the last clip the software found during its search. Lastly on the top row is the 'resize video' button which will make the video image bigger or smaller.
On the bottom roww you have the zoom in and zoom out buttons represented by a + and a - inside of a magnifying glass. the '100' button will reset the zoom to normal. Next to the reset zoom button is a snapshot button (Blank square) which takes a still-frame snapshot of the current video to be printed or saved separately. After the snapshot button is the 'Copy Video' button, which will save a copy of the current video clip to a location on a CD, USB Flash Drive, or elsewhere on your computer's hard drive. After that is the delete button which allows you to delete ONLY the current clip being played. And finally is the close button, which closes the playback controls entirely.
