Video Surveillance Guide

Video surveillance is a powerful tool to help you protect your home or business. It can function both as a deterrant to help prevent crime, as well as an investigative tool to aid you in identifying an interloper. Chapter 4: Camera Specification Guide

Here you will find information on how to compare the different views and features of many cameras. Combined with the camera selection guide in chapter 3, this guide helps you to select which cameras are best for your applications.

Chapter 5: Viewing Angles

Here you will find images which show the differences between different size lenses at various different distances. This is used to help you select (based on image) which lens would work best for your application.

Chapter 6: Wiring and Powering Cameras

Cameras require connections to the DVR for the video signal and to a power source. This chapter goes into further detail to aid in planning your installation.

Chapter 7: Maximum Wire Distances

To further aid in planning an installation, this chapter goes into detail as to the longest distances that your wires can be run without degrading the signal or losing power.
